"... Two houses at the end of the road... Two houses at the entrance to the countryside..."

A house, studio, and paddock for working with horses form a small complex of buildings behind a village in Pošumaví. The buildings are located on a plot of land that flows freely into the surrounding pastures. The mutual rotation of the structures creates natural spaces between the individual buildings – vistas, hints of courtyards, and quiet nooks facing the countryside.

The family house is based on the archetype of a rural house with a gabled roof. The basic volume is extended by a veranda, a shelter, and a sauna. The mass develops along the driveway and enters the meadow through the residential part. The wooden cladding on the side of the road protects and encloses the house, while towards the pasture it loosens up in the form of a graphic game. This creates a transitional space connecting the interior and the open landscape. The motif of vertical and horizontal slats is based on the structure of the forest, which is also reflected in the rhythm of the facade.

The studio is smaller, with a simpler form and a utilitarian character. It uses the principles of the main house but remains more earthy and partially embedded in the slope. Together with the fence, it forms a functional whole – a space for living, working, and connecting with the landscape.

Both buildings are designed as wooden structures on a stone foundation, with natural colors and modest details. The architecture grows out of the landscape, becoming a natural part of it.
