From the whole to the detail

The design works with basic forms and elements such as simple rural houses, living deciduous trees, local stones, water, elements for sitting and resting, paving as a chronicle of the village, a living Christmas tree, and a sledding hill for children from the nearby kindergarten.
We are developing the design into a detailed architectural study.

New village square in Lomnička

Despite its long history, the village of Lomnička has retained the compact character of a small village, but it still lacks a clearly defined center – a village square. The architectural and urban concept responds to this situation with a proposal for a new village square in the area of the former Panská zahrada (Lord's Garden), directly connected to the chapel and the footpaths that lead through the village. The village managed to acquire this space thanks to the efforts and vision of the current mayor.

The new village square is conceived as the peaceful and natural heart of the village – a place for meetings, everyday life, and social events. It is not about adding form, but about returning to the essence: an open space that is not defined by traffic, but by its relationship to the place and the landscape. The concept includes the location of a barrier-free municipal office, municipal rental housing, and a high-quality public space with greenery.

The urban design is based on the scale and character of the original buildings and works with simple, timeless forms. The aim is to create a space for meeting and the emergence of contemporary architecture that naturally builds on the history of the village, respects its landscape context, and stands the test of time.
We are further developing the design into a detailed architectural study.
